Salvation by Grace

Brother David Bass opened services reading from Psalm 119 (Psa 119:1-16) and then spoke about Salvation by Grace.

2Timothy 1:8-11  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

Common Salvation | Romans 8

Allen Daniels read from Jude and spoke about the Common Salvation.

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Randy McCarthy read from Romans chapter 8 (Rom 8:29-39) and spoke about Salvation and Election.

Rom 8:38-39  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Types of Salvation

Allen Daniels spoke on the types of salvation mentioned in the bible.

Matt 7: 13-14  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Salvation by Grace

David Bass read from Ephesians chapter 6, Prov. 22:6 and about the office of the deacon.

Allen Daniels began by reading Psalms 40.  He then spoke on Salvation by Grace.

Salvation – Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth

Allen Daniels

Brother Allen spoke about the importance of reading the Bible in context, giving several examples of salvation in the Bible and explaining why we cannot assume that every mention of salvation is referring to an eternal salvation.

Text: 2 Timothy 2:15

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The Importance of Blood | Salvation Through Blood: Past, Present, and Future

Bill McCarthyBill McCarthy  Lev 17:11

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

allen d-newAllen Daniels  2Corinthians 1:8-10; Psalms 34:4-7

“But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us”

The Name of God | The Sovereignty of God

randyMc_1_cropRandy McCarthy talks about The Name of God.

markwMark Wattenbarger reminds us the sovereignty of God involves His acts of will especially in the work of salvation.  If God speaks, it stands fast.  Beginning in Psa. 40:5, Brother Mark speaks of the declaration of a sovereign God who says man at his best is vanity.
